Budapest Castle District Walk with Matthias Church Entry
Get an historical overview of the Buda Castle District, walking through the small cobblestone streets and squares with a professional local guide. On this small group tour, you'll get a feel for its medieval aspects from the first stone laid to present day use.
Your guide will lead you through the castle area and its historical points, occupations and roles it played throughout Hungarian history, taking you back in time to see how Castle Hill was originally built and designed. You'll come to understand how the whole area was used over the centuries by many different cultures and nations. Walk through these major historical points and learn how the castle district survived and helped its inhabitants defend and live through invasions and occupations for centuries.
You will see the major sights including Royal Palace, the Presidential palace, Disz Square, Holy Trinity Square, Hess Andras Square and Fisherman's Bastion. Your guide will also show you around inside the Matthias Church and tell its stories and legends. The group will also take a break for coffee and cake in a cozy cafe of the Castle District.

There is a $6.95 USD processing fee per order. This is a flat fee regardless of the number of tickets or tours purchased on an order. There is a service charge per ticket. This charge will be reflected on your summary before you checkout. The total shown at checkout includes any fuel surcharges, service charges and tax. There are no additional charges, unless otherwise specified.

Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. All sales are final.
Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can only be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

Important
- In order to operate, this tour requires a minimum total of 2 participants
- You must wear modest clothing (covering the shoulders and thighs) when visiting the church; male visitors are requested to enter with a bare head - unless this is against the rules of their religion
- Participants will need to be fit for light continuous walking, for up to 2.5 hours
- Tour goes in all weather conditions so please dress appropriately
- Guides and their sales agents are not responsible for unforeseen delays or accidents
- Guides reserve the right to alter and change tour programs without prior notice due to construction, city closures for events, festivals and so on throughout the year
- Unfortunately, this tour cannot accommodate people with limited mobility
