After a gentle drive to Invermoriston, take a scenic stroll that showcases flowing rivers, an ancient Summer-house and a ruined, yet picturesque stone bridge. The next part of your journey takes you to Fort Augustus, a gorgeous wee village nestled between Loch Ness and the 60-mile long Caledonian Canal. You'll then venture back to Inverness, with walking stops and coffee breaks at the scenic villages of Foyers and Dores. Return time is approximately 6:00 pm.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's a small group tour like? -- Small group tours can give you so much more. Your tours, guides and mini-coaches have been hand selected to show you the best of the country. By getting off the beaten track and onto the back-roads, you will get to where only smaller tours can go - closer to the real people and local lives, past and present. Time off the bus is important too, and your guides pride themselves on getting you out there among the locals for a truly authentic experience.

What kind of vehicle is used for transport? -- Your tour will only travel in low-emission modern Mercedes mini-coaches. They have big panoramic windows (3 out of 4 seats are window seats), stereo systems, full sized reclining seats (with seat belts) and more leg room than the average coach.

What are the guides like? -- The guides are each hand-picked for their pride and passion for the areas they tour. Chosen for their expertise, knowledge and ability to entertain, they will regale you with folklore, myths, history and legend. And this isn't left to chance - these guides have won many awards, testament to how they want to be a part of your experience. Everything possible will be done to ensure you get a great tour, led by a great guide...someone you know really cares about what they do and how they do it. Guides like to "live life" and explore places that have stories to tell and people to tell them.

What language is spoken on the tour? -- Clear-spoken English. Your guides can provide detailed tour itineraries and a short piece of local history translated into Spanish, French, German and Italian available on request.

What is the age range on these tours? -- From 5 years old to 80 years young! The majority are 25 to 65.

Are children allowed on this tour? -- Children ages 5 and older are welcome. Under fives are not allowed for the sake of the child as much as everyone else.

Are there stops on the tour? -- Absolutely! Your guides want you to enjoy the best of Scotland as much as possible, and they believe the best way to do this is to get you off the minibus as often as possible. They ensure this with a mixture of photo stops, comfort stops and some walks.

Are there plenty of walks? -- Yes, and you will be given opportunities to really experience the fresh air and the beautiful scenery from outside the vehicle. These walks are optional and good footwear is advisable.

Do we need to bring our own lunch? -- It's not necessary...however, you can if you wish. The tour will either stop in small towns or villages, where you can choose where you eat, or rural family-run establishments where there is a choice to suit all budgets. These places are always chosen for their charm and character to give you a taste of fabulous hospitality.

How far in advance should we book? -- To avoid disappointment, it is always best to book as far in advance as possible.

Should we tip the driver/guide - and how much? -- If you feel your driver/guide has provided excellent service and want to provide a gratuity, they will love it! The amount is entirely at your discretion.

Should we take out travel insurance? -- Travel insurance is highly recommend and you will have the option to purchase insurance during the ordering process.
