In the morning, you will be picked up at your accommodation in Bucharest and will depart from Bucharest to Sinaia, also known as "The Pearl of the Carpathians." It is a beautiful mountain resort in the Carpathian mountains at 800 meters altitude. Here you will visit Sinaia Monastery and Peles Castle (built by the first King of Romania, Carol I, to be a summer Royal residence). The castle is an architectural beauty and very modern (for that time), being the first castle in Europe with electric power.

From Sinaia, it's on to Brasov, an old medieval citadel, the most important commercial center of all of Transylvania's seven German Medieval Cities. Visit the Old Town, followed by time for lunch (cost of meal not included in tour price). In the afternoon, go to Sighisoara, the only medieval citadel in Europe still populated (UNESCO heritage), kept in its original form with the old medieval fortifications and towers. Overnight accommodations are in Sighisoara.

After breakfast (included in tour price), your guide drives you toward the region of Maramures. In this place, the purity of nature blends with the beauty of the old villages. The locals keep their traditions, including carved wood representing a common way of building. You will visit the wooden church of Barsana built in 1995 - the most representative wooden church in Maramures - and also "The Old Barsana”"(UNESCO heritage), which was moved from its original place to another location using an old technique called "Dovetail." Next, go to nearby Sapanta village to admire the famous Merry Cemetery, which has gained originality and value through chopped, carved and painted crosses. An artisan has chiseled out versed epitaphs, most of them full of a remarkable sense of humor, particularly to the area residents. The value of these works of art is recognized locally and abroad. You will be visiting the highest wooden church in the world (78 meters), called Sapanta Peri, located in the same village. Overnight accommodations are in Sighetul Marmatiei. Depending on time, the tour may also visit the most notorious communist prison in Romania, located in the same city.

In the morning after an included breakfast, you will leave behind Maramures entering Bucovina. This region of Romania is known for its painted monasteries, traditional buildings adorned with beautiful floral and geometric motifs, traditions kept over the centuries and well known for its kind and hospitable people. On the way there, the drive drive goes through Prislop Pass to admire the picturesque scenery at the first stop - Ciocanesti village. All the houses there are painted with traditional motifs and the village hosts The Painted Eggs Museum.

Your day 3 journey continues northward to visit the famous painted monasteries, unique for their original frescoes both on the inside & outside walls, still preserved in the original style (some of these monasteries are UNESCO heritage). You will see Moldovita Monastery founded in 1532, initially built as a monastery for monks, later becoming a convent for nuns. The second monastery will be Sucevita, the largest of all, looking more like a mighty fortress than a monastery. As the last one for its exterior walls to be painted, this monastic place boasts the entire region's best-preserved frescoes. You will also visit the most famous painted monastery of all:  Voronet Convent, also known as "The Sistine Chapel of the Orient." Erected in 1488, Voronet Monastery represented one of the first Moldavian creative elements showing a distinctive style. The church is a combination of Byzantine, Gothic and local elements. The exterior painting on the western wall depicts the Doomsday scene, on five registers, unique in the entire world. Voronet Monastery entered the universal cultural heritage for the inimitable “Voronet blue” color found on its paintings. Overnight in accommodations in Gura Humorului.

Savor another included breakfast at the hotel and then head to the Danube Delta. The journey will be long but beautiful, going through many towns and villages of Moldavia, allowing you to see Romanian life in the countryside. There is a stop to have lunch (meal cost not included in tour price) in an excellent local restaurant. The tour will arrive at Tulcea, the Danube Delta's Gate, in the evening. This city is one of the oldest settlements in Romania, originally settled as a Greek colony during the 8th century B.C. There will be time for dinner (meal cost not included in tour price) and check-in at your overnight accommodation in Tulcea before starting a Danube Delta journey early the next day.

The day will begin with another included breakfast  before taking a boat tour on the Danube Delta's channels. The Danube Delta (UNESCO heritage) is the largest and the best-preserved river delta in Europe with a total surface of 3,446 square kilometers. Admire delta flora with specific swamp and fauna vegetation - 133 species of fish and 327 species of birds, some of them migratory and some local birds. On the way back from the trip, we will have time to enjoy a fish lunch in a restaurant in the area (meal cost not included in tour price). At the end of the day, return to Bucharest with drop off at your accommodation..
